e-Mail security

emailsecurity

e-mail is the most popular application on the internet. Now a days everyone has an e-mail account and e-mail has replaced conventional postal systems. With the growing popularity of e-mail the threats to the e-mail from hackers also grows. There are various types of attacks to personal security using e-mails.We will explore the various methods in this post.

Spam:Spam is junk e-mail that you receive from unknown person. The spam message will have web bugs which will collect information about you and send it to the sender if you open it.So it is better to not open a spam mail.Spam ranges from people who try to market their products to people who forge as a Nigerian petrol company wanting to transfer money.

Phishing:Phishing is sending e-mails that seem to be from a bank or a financial institution or some other organisation asking you to update or verify your details. The link in the site leads to a false webpage similar to the webpage of the original organisation. When a user enters to validate his details the details will be caught by the hacker.

Attachments security:It is a common practice for attackers to send attachments that look like legitimate files but when downloaded and run perform harmful functions. So it is better to scan attachments before downloading.

How to monetize your blog

monetize

Many webmasters are earning their living by monetizing their blogs. There are two ways of monetizing a blog 1)Google friendly 2)Against Google.Google friendly monetizing schemes involve displaying JavaScript based ads on your site.Google’s own ad sense,ad brite are some Google friendly programs. They all pay you based on the amount of traffic and clicks that your blog receives. There are also affiliate programs through which you can sell your own product or others products. If you have a blog with decent number of readers you can earn a good amount of money from these programs. Now there are also other monetization schemes where you sell links to other blogs. This kind of blogging is mainly used for passing on the page rank juice from your blog to the ones that you link to.If you have a blog with a good page rank there are many programs that pay you more than 500$ per month. There has been much debate about this kind of link sales. Some people like it as long as they get money from it.Some bloggers hate it as it produces a lot of spam. Google is against this kind of blogging and considers this kind of blogging to be link spamming.Google slaps the page rank of blogs that do link sales periodically.According to me it is the decision of the blog owner on the method he wishes to monetize his blog.

p.s:I am not using any kind of monetizing scheme for this blog yet.
